WE OFFER A VARIETY OF CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
OUR CURRENT SCHEDULE INCLUDES:
SUNDAY SCHOOL: CHILDREN AGES 3 TO 16 YEARS
ADULT BIBLE STUDIES:

STUDY OF 2 CORINTHIANS
PAUL'S LETTER TO THE CORINTHAINS, PART 2. AS MANY HAVE REQUESTED THAT WE FINISH THE STUDY WE HAD STARTED LAST YEAR IN THE FIRST LETTER, WE WILL CONTINUE OUR JOURNEY WITH THE TROUBLED CONGREGATION IN CORINTH. WE WILL SEE HOW GOD BLESSED THE CONGREGATION WHEN THEY FOLLOWED THE APOSTOLIC ADMONITIONS OF PAUL IN THE FIRST LETTER, AND HOW THAT CONGREGATION CONTINUED TO FIGHT AGAINST THE FORCES THAT WOULD TAKE HER AWAY FROM THE LORD. THIS LETTER WILL CONTINUE TO EMPHASIZE THE THEMESE OF THE PROPER USE OF CHRISTIAN FREEDOM, THE RELATIONSHIP OF THE LOCAL CONGREGATION TO THE UNIVERSAL TRUTH, THE ROLE OF THE PASTOR IN THE CONGREGATION AND THE NEED FOR THE CONGREGATION TO BE VIGILANT IN GUARDING AND DEFENDING HER OWN FREEDOMS THROUGH DISCERNING AND AVOIDING FALSE DOCTRINE, AND THROUGH NOT BEING EVER MADE SUBSERVIENT TO MEN INSTEAD OF GOD. PASTOR BASELEY LEADS THIS STUDY IN THE FELLOWSHIP HALL.
WITNESS-MERCY-LIFE TOGETHER: will explore this three-fold emphasis of new Synodical President Harrison as he writes: "These reflect God's very being as Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier and encompasses His holy and gracious will for all in Christ Jesus, namely that all come to believe in and bear witness to Christ, reflect divine compassion, and live together in forginveness, love and joy in the Church." Led by Pastor Zwonitzer in the Media Center we will trace these themes out in our Bibles and utilize a DVD presentation by President Harrison.

AT LEON'S RESTURANT

BIBLE BREAKFAST BUNCH: Meeting every Thursday at Leon's Restaurant on Michigan Avenue just to the east of Telegraph Rd. at 6:30a.m. We are just beginnning a new study on October 20th of the 1 & 2 Thessalonians, books of the Bible which focus on the end times and faulty views of what this means, of not obsessing about Christ's return, but knowing the truths about this important doctrine.
Fall and Spring:
e
ADULT INFORMATION CLASS: Provide attendees to learn the basics of the Bible as taught by Luther's Small Catechism. This is a fun and non-threatening way to learn what the Bible basically is all about for both members and non-members. Classes begin each September and January organized around the schedules of those interested with typically several options offered. Contact the Church Office at 313-565-4002 or through the "Ask the Pastors A Question" section of this website page for more info.
Monday evenings: 7:30pm - 9:00pm

WOMEN'S MONDAY BIBLE STUDY: For sometime now a group of women have been meeting to study God's Word, share prayer concerns and pray for each other and and others in need, and enjoy good Christian conversation and friendship. We meet at Dee Schwartz's house. For info call Dee at 565-9688 or the Church Office at 565-4002. Currently we are studying the book of Romans. Romans was his most favorite Biblical book, or one of two. He wrote about it: "This epistle is really the chief part of the New Testament, and is truly the purest gospel. ... In this epistle we thus find most abundantly the things that a Christian ought to know, namely, what is law, gospel, sin, punishment, grace, faith, righteousness, Christ, God, good works, love, hope and the cross; and also how e are to conduct ourselves toward everyone." This study is being led by Pastor Zwonitzer.
