Rain, rain, go away! We started at the U.S. Capitol. We enjoyed the Rotunda and the Whisper Room.
Then we WALKED 14 blocks to the Old Post Office for lunch and shopping. We then went up an elevator to the top to the Bell Tower and saw a beautiful panoramic view of Washington. Then we headed to the memorials. We saw the Washington Monument, World War II Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam War Memorial, and Einstein. We headed home on the Metro and then taxied to the hotel. We enjoyed dinner at Fuddrucker's. Despite the rain we had a wonderful day of rememberance and walked FIVE MILES!!!! More tomorrow...
