I once saw a picture of a group of children from different countries. They were dressed in their native dress and were performing certain customs of their daily lives. Who do you think taught the children how to dress, what to eat, or how to act? We learn to act in certain ways as a result of the country, the community, and the family in which we are raised. We all belong to the same heavenly family, God’s family. Everyone in our family is a forgiven sinner who will enter heaven completely clean and spotless because of Jesus and Easter. Jesus and the message or word about Him is what makes our family special and different. God patiently guides us and leads us so that we can become more firmly rooted in Him and branch out in service to others. Then, when others see us, they can tell that we are part of God’s family by the things we say and do.
Emmanuel Lutheran School will be hosting a Curriculum Fair on Friday, April 18, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Samples of students’ work throughout the year will be displayed and hors d’oeuvres will be served. It will be a great time to see all the God given talents our students possess as they learn more about our God and world each day.
