April 17
Sometimes it’s really hard to concentrate. There are so many distractions that fight for our attention. When we choose to pay attention to the distractions around us, we sometimes don’t think about God’s love and God’s promises. St. Paul gives us some good advice on how to keep our thoughts on Jesus. In his letter to the Philippians he tells us that if we keep our minds full of the wonderful gifts from God, other negative thoughts won’t have room to creep in. Where was Paul when he wrote those words? Prison. In spite of the fact that he was locked up and being punished, he remembered God’s love and forgiveness and he wanted to share that with others. Jesus died and rose again to give us God’s love, forgiveness, heaven, joy, and peace. When we fill our minds with all that God has done for us, we can’t help but be firmly rooted and branching out! We can focus on God’s Word, listen to Jesus’ voice, and live as His children.
The Curriculum Fair is tomorrow evening from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. We surely have a group of creative students judging from their work so far. Join us for hors d’oeuvres and fellowship as we thank our great God for all the talents He has given your children.
Please keep our Open House in your prayers as we share with the community all the great things God is doing at Emmanuel Lutheran School.
