December 7

Some of you have seen a “wanted” poster at a post office or courthouse. The poster describes the person and tells the reason the person is wanted by the police for arrest. None of us would want to be the “wanted” person, guilty of a crime. But there is one who was wanted and needed by every person. How badly was He needed? The Old Testament history clearly shows that God’s people fell away from Him, and God kept calling them back to repentance. God kept repeating His promise that the Messiah would be their Shepherd, who would set up an eternal kingdom for His people. He wouldn’t be an earthly king, to be served, but would come as a servant, to suffer the punishment of sin for us. He would heal, teach, and perform miracles so that all would know He was God’s Son. Advent reminds us of our need for the “most wanted man,” and how we can remain firmly rooted and branching out in Him.

Please join us on Friday, December 14, at 6:30 p.m. for the Preschool-Kindergarten Christmas program. The theme this year is Christmas Show and Tell. It will be delightful to watch the youngest children in our school tell the story of the birth of our Savior Jesus with song and verse.
