February 1

A yo-yo is pretty hard to lose.  You can throw the thing away, but it keeps coming back. That’s how God holds us to Himself.  We may get away a bit, but His love and forgiveness is always pulling His people back.  The prophet Zechariah told the people of Judah how God brought them back home from Babylon and how God would send Jesus to be their eternal Savior.  When we sin, we are turning away from God.  We too, need a Savior.  Jesus is that Savior.  God promises to bring us to live with Him.  Jerusalem was a nice place; our home in heaven is far better.  Heaven is where we will be firmly rooted and branching out eternally and be at home with God.

Please keep the 5th and 6th graders in your prayers this week as we travel to Camp Rotary.  While there they will have the opportunity to experience cross country skiing, archery, outdoor survival skills and repelling off a forty foot tower.  They also will learn more about their great God and His love for them through devotions, prayer, and song.  We leave on Monday morning and return by Friday afternoon.
